Recipe for a succesful web site
I really like the "recipe" content of Nathan Shedroff's site Recipe for a Successful Website. I can't help but comment on the choice of background color and background images though. Green with white line images of food are not what I'd consider a successful design for being easy to read with black text on top of it. Then on top of that background there are even black line art images. I guess I just find it funny based on what the site advocating. I definitely like how there is an option to download a PDF version and I did that. Makes it much easier to read! One thing the PDF lacks is the use of hyperlinks to examples. I like how the site makes use of those, where the PDF does not.

What an interesting deconstruction of his site! I never thought to think about what he chose to use on his own site (except I thought some example websites he listed contradicted some of what he said).

I liked the reference to a recipe that was used because you do need fresh ideas and ingredients to have a successful site or dish. Your ideas have to blend with your design, much like flavors that have to blend for tastebuds. Our users will be our 'taste testers' if you will, to help us learn how to suit many palates of learning! Needless to say with my money finding scholarhsip website I will be using the color green, but I will definitely be careful about how I use it! :)

Interesting take on the green background with white food images. I thought it was rather kitsch so I kind of liked it.
